Our summer interns, Elise and Julian, report on their experiences with the Engineering Psychology group.
Elise (Research intern)
“I had an amazing summer working with Robin and the PysEng team in Finland. I worked on a novel project exploring how humans collaborate with Augmented Humans in Game Theory scenarios. Our research focused on how AI-enhanced abilities might shape cooperation in the near future. I was fortunate to take an active role in designing the study and analyzing the data we collected. The team’s dynamic was fantastic, and Robin proved to be an exceptional mentor. Working with him not only deepened my understanding of the research itself but also gave me valuable insights into academia, which has greatly supported my pursuit of an academic career.“
Julian (Research intern)
“Going to Finland and supporting the PsyEng team over the summer was an experience of a lifetime for me. Not only did I get the opportunity to explore Finland, but I also got great insights into cutting-edge research in human-computer-interaction. In our project, we investigated how different attendence modalities affect physiological synchrony between viewers in shared VR music experiences. I had the opportunity to contribute to all parts of the research project, from study design to data analysis. Robin and the whole team created a great working environment that I found ideal for my professional and personal development. This positive experience made me realise that a PhD programme is the right next step for me.“
